Miles away from the typical clinical look, Uncharted Weather is a tribute to Uncharted game series, and uses visuals from the games to present weather conditions.

Despite the playful visual style, no compromise has been made to speed and usability. This is one of the fastest apps of its kind, serving the most up to date weather information from anywhere in the world.

Here's what makes Uncharted Weather stand out:

. Icon Badge shows the most current temperature. The badge will update even while the app is closed.
. Playful interface with animated rain, snow and lightning, all running at smooth 60 frames/second.
. Very fast weather updates, usually a second or less on a good connection. Always up to date weather from anywhere in the world.
. Weather Warnings and additional data available for locations in USA, Canada and Europe.
. ‘Feels Like’ is clearly displayed front and center, when it's different from the measured temperature.
. Live Wind Direction feature shows the direction wind is coming from, regardless of where you're facing. Never again have to guess if the wind will blow into your face as you prepare to walk down the street.
. Countdown Day Count can be displayed on the Icon Badge. The Day Countdown badge will update for up to 7 days, even if the app is never started during that time.
. Environment Canada service is used for weather conditions in Canada, providing the most current data available.
. Quick, swipe based settings screen. Find your location using GPS, or by typing your Zip Code, Postal Code, City name, or City and Country in the search field.
. Multiple info pages available. Just tap on the weather info to cycle through them.
. Selectable countdown date, so you can see the time left to any important event. Tap on the forecast or the weather info to switch between the countdown and the weather info.

Privacy Policy:
This app is saving the geographic location you've entered, and sending it only to a weather service (APIXU or Environment Canada). It does not access your location in the background. It does not send your location to the author of the app. It does not collect any other information whatsoever.

Version History - Fix for the weather data sometimes not updating when the app is opened. 5.2 08/26/2023 - Fix for Environment Canada forecast text formatting.. 5.1 05/21/2023 - Eliminated the occasional iOS16 crashes. Near-complete rewrite of the app was needed for this, and the app should now be even faster and more responsive on older devices, as a result of this.
- Fix for current day's min/max temperatures.
- Fix for the countdown date selector not working under iOS 16.
- Pull-down to update now has a light haptic feedback. 5.0 02/16/2023 - Fix for the Celsius temperature rounding error on the icon badge. 4.8 04/28/2020 - Weather forecast is back, and offers five days of forecast instead of four.
- Fix for the badge temperature disappearing when displayed in Celsius. 4.7 10/12/2019 - Switched to a new global weather provider as the previous one stopped working (Environment Canada is still used for Canadian weather).
Because of this, for the time being, the app doesn't have the weather forecast, but it still can show the temperature on the app icon badge. 4.6 10/11/2019 - Fix for the app occasionally freezing on launch. 4.5 05/23/2019 - Fix for the weather forecast icons not updating correctly. 4.4 05/02/2019 - A thorough improvement for the icon badge temperature function. This feature now requires iOS11 at a minimum, and uses a new method that should work much more reliably.
Note that this feature is disabled by default. If you want to use it, make sure to enable it by selecting "Temp" in the Badge settings. 4.3 04/22/2019 - Fix for the badge temperature update problem. It should continue updating a few times a day now.

- Fixed Geolocation and Date Chooser under iOS8 3.4 01/24/2015 Fixed the app crashing problem caused by the background temperature update. This time for real. 3.3 05/27/2014 - App can now display temperatures on the badge, even when they go into negative. They will still be shown as a positive number, so -10 degrees will show up as number 10. This is unfortunately the only way it can be done, but should still be useful during the cold winter times for Celsius measurements. Feature can be enabled/disabled using the ± button in the settings panel.

- Bug fixes that should eliminate the app crashes caused by background operation for badge temperature updates. 3.2 02/01/2014 • Icon Badge will now update the current temperature continuously, without needing to restart the app! This is an iOS7 only feature. You may need to start the app if the badge disappears, as that would happen if iOS has stopped it to free up the memory.

• New, flatter icon and full screen layout.

• Fixed startup crash on non-iOS7 devices that was introduced in the previous update. 3.01 09/17/2013 /!\ WARNING: Update Only if your device has iOS7. Due to a bug, it will crash on iOS6. This will be fixed very soon in the next update /!\

This update works with their new weather data format. 2.51 06/30/2013 To celebrate the release of The Last Of Us, an LED flashlight feature is added, that should make exploring those dark places a bit easier. Simply tap the treasure chest to activate/deactivate. Then scroll up and down to increase/decrease the light intensity. 2.5 06/04/2013 - Added secondary weather service, to be used when the primary fails for any reason. I've noticed recent cases of going over the daily limit for the service, which rendered app inoperable for the rest of the day. This update will resolve that.

- Added displaying of barometric pressure 2.1 01/14/2013 ☼ Support for iPhone 5 added. Weather Forecast is always displayed on iPhone 5 screen, other information can be cycled through, as before.
